Prior to pursuing his medical degree, Dr. Scott graduated with an undergraduate degree in engineering from The Pennsylvania State University in University Park and earned a master’s degree in management science and operations research from Temple University in Philadelphia. He then earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania and completed his adult neurology residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, serving as chief resident.
Board certified by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Scott most recently served patients as a neurologist in the South Carolina upstate. His areas of interest include immune mediated neurological conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, myopathies, inflammatory neuropathies and vasculopathies, including central nervous system vasculitis, microangitis and giant cell arteritis. Dr. Scott has 20 years of experience using Botox™ to treat headache syndromes and spasticity, as well as the use of vagal nerve stimulators in the treatment of medically refractory epilepsy and seizure disorders. He has also been involved in the diagnosis and care of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and dementia associated with Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders.
Dr. Scott proudly joins the board-certified physicians and highly skilled staff at Lexington Neurology. The practice provides comprehensive care in the evaluation, monitoring, prevention and treatment of cognitive and neurological disorders.
